The Pottery Studio at Net vir Pret, led by the talented Jean Bittkau
, is a flourishing hub of creativity and skill-building that meets twice a week. This newly established studio is not only well-equipped but also proudly features its own kiln, enabling participants to see their creations through every stage of the artistic process.
The young artists have been busy crafting a stunning variety of items, including pots, plates, bowls, chiming bells, and more. Their creations have already gained recognition and were available for purchase at the Barrydale in Bloom Festival, showcasing their talent and adding a touch of handmade artistry to the event.
Net vir Pret’s Pottery Studio also plays a critical role in supporting children in the community, particularly those affected by Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), which often leaves them struggling with focus and learning. Through pottery, these children are introduced to a creative and therapeutic environment where they can express themselves, build confidence, and develop essential skills at their own pace.
The studio is more than a place to shape clay—it’s a space where young minds and spirits are nurtured, offering new pathways for growth, creativity, and joy to children who need it most.
